Compliance Exchange

The Compliance Exchange is an infrastructure set up to coordinate, communicate, and exchange information with and between compliance professionals at IU. It is built within an Oncourse CL project site.

What is this site to be used for?

  • Communicating with each other on shared compliance issues;
  • Informing each other of activities going on in our compliance areas that might affect other compliance areas;
  • Sharing work we are doing that may be applicable or usable by another compliance area; and
  • Distributing information about professional development and training events applicable to compliance professionals.

A list of IU compliance professionals, or "subject matter experts (SMEs)" is maintained in the site.

Who can participate?

Anyone with compliance job duties at any Indiana University campus may participate in the Compliance Exchange. This includes employees who have job duties that make them responsible for compliance of some sort – not those employees who have to comply with regulations. "Responsible" generally means that the employee has been tasked with compliance job duties for a campus, sector, or for the university as a whole, such as:

  • tracking requirements;
  • designing and implementing effective and efficient internal controls, policies, and procedures to assure compliance;
  • providing awareness and training programs;
  • monitoring and measuring transactions and processes to report the degree of compliance by the organization;
  • responding to audits and investigations into regulatory and compliance issues; and
  • handling requests for information from regulatory bodies.
