Bed Bugs
A significant increase in the number and visibility of bedbug sightings occurred in 2010. Over one hundred suspected problems have been investigated, though thus far very few have been confirmed as actual bedbugs. UOEHSM staff spent many hours with various affected campus groups, pest management personnel and contractors, community groups, and media representatives in order to effectively deal with this problem. Early in the year UOEHSM staff led a system-wide effort to develop information resources to support the campus entities that encounter bedbugs, an effort that was highly valuable as the problem became more widespread over the course of the year.
