Restaurants, Bars, and Attractions in Indianapolis

We put together this page for attendees of the 2012 EDUCAUSE Security Professionals Conference in Indianapolis who may not be familiar with the area.  It's based solely on the opinions of the authors.

Restaurants and Bars

Gathering informally outside the conference sessions is a great way to spark collaboration—some of the community's most successful projects have resulted from it.  Whether you're looking for a place to gather outside the conference hotel or just relax by yourself, check out the recommendations below.

Near the Hotel

Near the hotel are several establishments that offer good food, drink, and conversation-friendly atmosphere:

Late Night & 24-hour

Food Trucks

The food truck phenomenon has hit Indianapolis.  The trucks can often be found in White River State Park, on the IUPUI campus, and near the corner of Illinois and Ohio Streets.  See this Twitter list to track Indy's best food trucks.

Getting to the IUPUI Campus

You may want to get to IUPUI, specifically the Information Communications Technology Complex (ICTC), to visit someone or go on a tour of the data center.  This map will get you there (on foot) from the conference hotel.
