Indiana University Kokomo has secured several police cars, fire trucks, ambulance and specialty equipment (bomb squad, K-9 units, and more!) to be on campus for tours and pictures from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Friday, September 14.

This all day event is targeted to elementary and middle school students and we are encouraging schools to come for a 2-hour field trip to include:

  • Touring public safety vehicles and equipment!
  • Meeting and talking with current police officers, firemen and other public safety officials.
  • Participate in mini-safety seminars conducted by current Indiana University Kokomo students (for example: Online safety and security, Stop, Drop and Roll and more!)
  • GREAT opportunity to tie into Constitution Day (Monday, September 17, 2012) or 9/11 Remembrance activities.
  • Not to mention a WONDERFUL way to support a college bound mentality with your elementary and middle schools students. They will get to visit a college campus (have fun) and realize that college is something they can do.

We are scheduling times now! We will fill time slots on a first-come, first-serve basis. Space is limited so PLEASE call today to schedule your time.

Note: Parents are welcome to bring students individually to tour the equipment and visit with the public safety personnel.
