U.S. State Department Travel Resources
The U.S. Department of State offers free reports on the current status of any country. If natural or political circumstances in a given country are deemed threatening to US citizens, the State Department will issue a travel warning. Fact sheets for all countries, including current alerts and warnings, can be found at travel.state.gov.
IU policy does not allow undergraduate programs to travel to countries on the State Department warning list, unless valid and compelling reasons can be provided along with the completion of a waiver form to ensure the student has considered the risk such a trip presents.
