Marty Gersey is the Chief of Police at the South Bend campus, where he is responsible for all operations of the campus police department. He also manages functions relating to the campus Parking Services Department. He actively facilitates and engages in communications and collaboration with various campus and university groups as well as other local law enforcement and public safety entities.
Gersey has been with Indiana University for 24 years. Before his current appointment, he served as visiting lecturer in the School of Public and Environmental Affairs Criminal Justice Department where he taught criminal justice courses and established the IUSB/SPEA Criminalistics Laboratory, which is used for student instruction. He also previously served as the campus coordinator of disaster and emergency services and had oversight for campus environmental health and safety functions.
