Marge Abels is the Exercise and Training Program Manager for IU Emergency Management and Continuity for all campuses. Her responsibilities include developing a 3-year training and exercise plan for all campuses, managing the training, exercises, after action reports, and improvement plans for the 3-year plan. In addition, she is responsible for the technology integration and support of the IU Notify system and its components including Rave (emergency notification system) and Alertus Desktop servers and software.

 Abels has been with IU since 1995. She joined IUEMC when the office was developed in 2009. Prior to this reorganization, Abels worked in UITS, first as a programmer and then in the University Information Security Office as an Information Security Analyst for 12 years, and finally as the IT Business Continuity Program Manager for 2 years before she moved into the IUEMC organization.
