Doug Booher serves as Director of the Indiana University Auditorium and University Events. Known for its presentation of a wide variety of events from university ceremonies and conference events to the latest concerts, comedy and Broadway attractions, IU Auditorium is a 3,200 seat proscenium facility in the center of the IU campus. It has been a model of campus and community programming and engagement since it was built in 1941, as the first facility of his presidency, by Herman B Wells. Established in 2010, IU Event Services provides all event staff for major university events including all IU Athletics events. Together, IU Auditorium and Event Services serve one million guests each year. In his role for University Events Management, he offers oversight, consultation and compliance assistance to event organizers on all IU campuses.
Booher is one of 215 venue and event professionals across the world who has earned the Certified Facilities Executive (CFE) designation and earned his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. He is a proud member of the International Association of Venue Managers, the Association of Performing Arts Presenters, Collegiate Events and Facility Managers Association, and the Event Safety Alliance. Throughout his career he has presented extensively in the areas of expert guest service, event management and artist contract negotiation and serves as an adjunct lecturer in IU's School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
