As assistant director of IUEMC at IU Bloomington, Kate Dorrity works to prepare the campuses for emergencies through development of policies, strategies, plans, and capabilities across the scope of emergency management and continuity for the campus.

Dorrity most recently was an emergency management coordinator for IUEMC at IUPUI. Her job included providing guidance, training and support in the development of building emergency coordinators, emergency action plans and the building incident management teams. She began her career in public safety in 2006 with the position of Assistant Director of Risk & Emergency Management for Recreation & Wellness at Purdue University. She also has served as a volunteer for the Tippecanoe County Emergency Management Agency and was elected to the position of vice president for the volunteer organization.
