Diane Mack, CEM, CSSP, CHPP is Indiana University’s first system-wide director of emergency management and continuity. She leads a strong team engaged in the prevention, mitigation, preparedness for, response to, recovery from, and business/academic/research continuity during any emergency on any of IU campuses domestically and worldwide.

Mack serves as an incident commander for the State of Indiana’s Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT), and recent deployments include leading teams in Long Beach, N.Y. after Superstorm Sandy and in Henryville/Clark County, Ind. for an EF-4 tornado response that spanned 71 square miles. Her passion for her field is reflected in her position as president of Mack Strategies LLC, with a focus on sports emergency management, exercise facilitation and evaluation, strategic planning, and grants management. She is a principal member of the NFPA 1600 Disaster/Emergency Management and Business Continuity Programs Standard Technical Committee and is a sports security and ICS instructor. Mack previously served in appointed positions in state government, including as the assistant director of homeland security and as deputy labor commissioner.
