As an Assurance Programs Specialist, Anahit Behjou’s primary responsibility is consulting with IU programs and assisting them in complying with IU’s Programs Involving Children policy. Additionally, Anahit reviews background checks containing criminal hits and adjudicates potential volunteers as to their suitability for working with children. Another responsibility is to assist in the coordination of IU’s Jeanne Clery Act compliance efforts on all 7 IU-administered campuses as well as other applicable policies and laws that may impact public safety.
Before joining Public Safety and Institutional Assurance in 2014, Anahit held positions and internships with a variety of firms and public institutions. She was the program manager at Monroe Circuit Court for Parenting Time Opportunities for Children, a legal assistant at Indiana University Foundation, and worked as a law clerk for law firms in Bloomington and for Indiana Legal Services.
