Craig Munroe is the administrative Lieutenant for Indiana University Public Safety; his duties currently involve coordinating projects, procurement and implementation of law enforcement equipment, computer hardware and software that is used by the seven divisions of the IU Police Department. Lt. Munroe coordinates the IU Police statewide voice and data communications systems that serve the IU campuses, providing police dispatching and emergency services response.
Lt. Munroe began his career at the IU Police Department in 1979, joining the IU Police Cadet-Officer Program. He graduated from the IU Police Academy August 8, 1980 and was appointed as a fulltime police officer in 1981. Lt. Munroe has duties and responsivities at IUPD-Bloomington as Public Information Officer and Quartermaster. He also serves on the policy board for the Monroe County Central Emergency Dispatch Center.
