Food Safety at IU
IU Environmental Health and Safety works to ensure that all who live, work, and visit our campuses are provided with safe food.
This is done through pre-operational facility plan review and approval, routine and complaint-based facility inspections, and approval and inspection of temporary facilities and events on campus that provide food to the public. In addition to compliance enforcement, IUEHS provides food safety education, training, and consultation for all IU campuses.
While the specific procedures for registering food service establishments and obtaining approval for events that serve food and alcohol may vary on each IU campus, the University and IUEHS policies and programs below apply to all IU campuses.
