- Anesthetic Gas Safety Training
All employees who work with or supervise work with anesthetic gases shall complete E Training prior to using any anesthetic gas. The training shall be conducted upon initial assignment and whenever there is a change in process or procedure. Supervisors are responsible for ensuring employees who work with anesthetic gases and associated equipment have been trained in the proper procedures and use of the equipment.

- Asbestos Awareness Training
All employees who may come in contact with asbestos shall receive training consistent with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Class IV asbestos worker training requirements. Training is required for all Facilities Services Operations and Maintenance staff, Building Services, University Architects, Project Managers, and Maintenance Units.

- Biosafety Training
Biological safety training is required for personnel associated with work in biological laboratories, either for research or teaching purposes. The training ensures that personnel working in certain laboratories have been trained in basic biological safety principals before conducting work in laboratories at IU.
This training is intended to promote a safe laboratory working environment and to help ensure compliance with the NIH Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules and the Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories, 5th ed. Biological safety training pertains to all IBC protocols and research that fall under the NIH Guidelines for Research Involving Recombinant or Synthetic Nucleic Acid Molecules, all Biological Safety Level 2 or higher protocols, and teaching laboratories at Biological Safety Level 2.
Professors and assistants in teaching laboratories at BL2 need to complete the biological safety training. Students are not required to complete biological safety training but should receive classroom and topic-specific training from the instructor.

- Bloodborne Pathogen - Clinicians
Bloodborne Pathogen Training is required for all employees, including part-time, temporary, and probationary, who may as a part of their job come in contact with persons or items that are infectious or potentially infectious for bloodborne pathogens.
Training shall be provided to all existing IU employees initially and at least annually thereafter. New employees shall participate in a training program at the time of initial assignment to tasks where occupational exposure may take place.

Cold Stress Awareness is for employees who are exposed to or may become exposed to excessive cold during the course of performing their job duties. The training discusses cold-related illness and injures, how to protect yourself from cold stress, and what to do in a cold-related emergency.

- Compressed Gas Cylinder Safety Training
This course instructs Indiana University faculty, staff, and temporary employees in the safe handling, storage, transportation for compressed gas cylinders. Educational components of this course include federal and industry compressed gas cylinder and fill station regulations, U.S. cylinder markings, and hazardous material training as it pertains to handling and storage.

Confined Space Awareness training applies to any Indiana University employee who is required to enter an area that has been identified as a permit-required and non-permit required confined space.

- Contractor Safety Training
Contractors performing project work shall be informed of the requirements of this Program by receiving a copy of the Contractor Safety Procedures Manual and completing the online Contractor Safety Program training session prior to beginning work on IU property.
A designated contractor representative shall complete the online Contractor Safety Training. The representative is responsible for communicating the information from the training to all employees and sub-contractors under their responsibility on the work site. Documentation that all employees and sub-contractors have been informed of the Indiana University Contractor Safety Programs and procedures shall be provided to the IU Project Manager prior to the beginning of the project.

- Electrical Safety Training (General)
This Program applies to all Indiana University employees, and covers all electrical equipment (e.g. machinery, tools, equipment, and circuit parts), which due to their nature of operation and/or design, possess inherent hazards from electricity.

This course introduces IU employees to ergonomics and specifically, how to set up workstations in such a way that reduces the likelihood of developing a repetitive trauma injury and frequenty of training upon initial employment and refresher training as needed.

Employees using a filtering facepiece respirator (N95, P100, etc) shall complete this training. The training must be completed prior to being required to use a respirator in the workplace.
Before an employee is allowed to wear a respirator to perform job tasks, the following must be completed:
- A hazard evaluation must be completed by IUEHS to determine the respiratory hazard;
- A medical evaluation;
- Fit-testing; and
- Training on the proper care and use of the respiratory protection (see training links below).

- Formaldehyde Hazard Communications
This training is required for all employees exposed to formaldehyde at or above 0.1 parts per million (ppm) as identified by IUEHS. Training is recommneded for employees who work with formaldehdyde but do not have exposures above 0.1 ppm.

Golf Car and Off Road Vehicle Operator training is required for all employees who operate or provides services for utility carts on campus. Utility carts include golf carts, turf vehicles, Cushman carts, GEM cars, and small rough terrain vehicles.

- Half-Face and Full-Face Respirator Training
Employees using a Half and Full-Face respirators shall complete this training. The training must be completed prior to being required to use a respirator in the workplace.
Before an employee is allowed to wear a respirator to perform job tasks the following must be completed:
- A hazard evaluation must be completed by IUEHS to determine the respiratory hazard;
- A medical questionnaire must be completed by contacting IUEHS or obtaining the Medical Questionnaire from the website; and
- Training on the proper care and use of the respiratory.

- Hazard Communication Training
Employees shall receive information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment, and whenever a new chemical hazard the employees have not previously been trained about is introducted into their work area.
OSHA has amended the Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200) to align its requirements with the Globally Harmonized System for the Classification and Labeling of Hazardous Chemicals, or GHS. The composition and formatting of all chemical labels and safety data sheets is changing so that chemical hazard information is easier to locate and is consistent across all chemcial suppliers.
This training is required for all employees who have the potential to come in contact with hazardous chemicals in the workplace. The training will give you an overview of GHS and discuss how it has changed Hazard Communications so that you can understand the effect of the chagnes in your workplace.

The Hazardous Materials Transportation is required for all employees who:
- prepare hazardous materials for shipment;
- offer hazardous materials for shipment;
- handle hazardous materials packages; and

Laboratory animal allergen training applies to all people with direct contact with animals, tissues, or animal by-products within IU facilities and all animal facility personnel.

The OSHA Lab Standard requires that individuals who will be working with chemicals in the laboratory be provided with sufficient training to enable them to conduct their work safely. Training must be provided prior to the time when they begin their duties involving chemicals and whenever there is a significant change in the types or quantities of chemicals used. Departments and, ultimately, principal investigators, lab managers or lab supervisors are responsible for ensuring that all individuals working in their laboratories have been adequately trained.

- NIH Guidelines Training
NIH Guidelines Training is required for all personnel (e.g., PIs, co-investigators, undergraduate and graduate researchers, research assistants, lab staff, etc.) listed on an Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) protocol.

- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Training
Employees who are required to wear personal protective equipment shall be trained on when PPE is necessary, what type of PPE is required, how to properly wear the PPE and, the proper care and maintenance of the equipment. This include PPE such as, eye and face protection, hand protection, foot protrection, hearing protection, and body proteciton.

Recognizing that we are a part of a larger community, the university prides itself on maintaining a high degree of water quality in this natural resource through environmental and state compliance programs.
This training covers requirements related to the following programs:
- The Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) program identifies and controls or eliminates potential sources of petroleum contamination to surface waters in the unlikely event of a spill.
- The Stormwater Protection Program identifies the requirements of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) in accordance with the Clean Water Act.
- The Wellfield Protection Program provides guidance and requirements for some IU campuses in the protection of groundwater.
