Response to resistance: IUPD’s training, general orders, and current data
The Indiana University Police Department (IUPD) collects data on every response to resistance incident that officers encounter. We will provide this data to the public on a quarterly basis.
IUPD's General Orders and training:
- The IUPD’'s General Order on Response to Resistance is available on the General Orders page.
- All IUPD officers receive training in Fair and Impartial Policing which focuses on overcoming implicit bias.
- All IUPD officers receive training in Mental Health First Aid.
- All IUPD officers receive training in Integrating Communications, Assessment, and Tactics (ICAT) which places an emphasis on de-escalation.
Data is currently available for the Bloomington campus in all quarters of 2020. Continue to check back as other campuses and quarters are added.
We are using Power BI’s data visualization desktop to present our data, which has its own keyboard shortcuts. Once in the Power BI desktop, you can press Shift + ? to show the shortcuts at any time.
