1 Corinthians 2: 1-5

And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. 2 For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. 4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.

Paul preached his message without wise and persuasive words. Paul knew the secret was to allow the Spirit of God to speak through him and not to rely on his own power or knowledge.

I often feel that I don't have enough Biblical knowledge to be effective. I often feel like I am not eloquent when speaking in public. Paul felt the same way. He even states that he had great fear and trembling when speaking to the church in Corinth. I need to be more like Paul and keep things simple. Allow God to speak through me and not try to impress with great knowledge and eloquence.

Thank you God for your spirit that lives within me. Help me to hear your voice and use me as a vessel to speak using the power of your Spirit and not my own.
