Brad brings over 30 years of law enforcement experience, including extensive interactions with individuals on the autism spectrum. In 2025, he completed the Autism for First Responders – Train the Trainer course, led by a lifelong expert in autism. This training inspired Brad and his team to create a course that equips first responders with practical tools to foster positive outcomes when engaging with those on the spectrum.

In her role as University Director for Emergency Management and Continuity at IU Public Safety, Amanda oversees the statewide team leading the university’s emergency planning and preparedness, and continuity efforts. In addition, she is a certified instructor of the Blue Bridge Autism Training for First Responders program and has a son on the spectrum as well as a neurotypical daughter.
Prior to joining IU Public Safety, she was Executive Director of Media Relations and Editorial Content in University Communications and Marketing. Throughout Amanda's years at IU, she's played an essential role in crisis communications and emergency preparedness. She also worked for 11 years at IU Health Bloomington where she led media relations, crisis communications, various marketing efforts and served as a key member of the organization’s emergency preparedness committee.

John has over 20 years of experience working in higher education, particularly in the areas of emergency management, student affairs and veteran/military affairs.
He is an internationally certified emergency manager and holds national search-and-rescue certifications as a technician, search manager and instructor.
