Each year, Indiana University Public Safety recognizes its staff for serving the IU community with excellence. This year's Public Safety awards encompass service from Aug. 1, 2025 to August 1, 2026. We also recognize significant career milestones for the university.

Recipients of this award support teammates and foster a positive, inclusive team environment. They willingly share knowledge, skills, and time with others. They also demonstrate strong communication and partnership across teams and departments while maintaining a constructive solutions-focused mindset, even under pressure.
Tonya Trueblood
The award recipient for Supervisor of the Year consistently adheres to and practices the mission statement of their unit and strategic outcomes of Public Safety. They consistently perform their duties without close supervision, comply with department policies, procedures, rules and regulations, and their conduct reflects favorably on themselves, Public Safety, and Indiana University. They strive to continuously improve, encourage others, and they take advantage of every opportunity to improve their ability to be more professionally competent.
The honoree displays customer service above and beyond the standard expectations with a consistently professional and friendly attitude. They ensure all individuals are treated fairly, with courtesy and respect. They also promote a positive image of IU Public Safety and Indiana University.
Latoya Johnson

The actions of this individual distinguishes them above all others to be recognized as Instructor of the Year.
Brian Ray

Aaron Thomas

Evan Oldham

They consistently perform their duties without close supervision, are familiar and comply with department policies, procedures, rules and regulations, and their conduct reflects favorability on themselves, the department, and Indiana University. This award recepient strives to continually improve, encourage others, and takes advantage of every opportunity to improve their ability to be more professionally competent.
Jordan Mullis
Recipients of this award are recognized for a commendable or creditable act that shows a high degree of competence, professionalism, initiative, and accomplishment. The recognized act enhances public safety and/or promotes the mission, values, and goals of the IUPD.
The recipient of this award has demonstrated exceptional conduct that is significantly above the standard expectations within the normal realm of responsibilities or duties and can include an act showing evidence of selflessness during a time of crisis or emergency.
Recipients of this award acted promptly and unselfishly to render aid which directly resulted in the saving of a person's life from imminent danger or from the likelihood of certain death. Evidence may indicate that the action of the employee was the lifesaving act itself or the action prolonged the life to the point that the person was released to the care of medical personnel.
