Community Engagement Programs

Safety programs and community involvement

IUPD officers strive to build relationships so that students, faculty, and staff feel comfortable when they need to call us for help or other services. We believe that when police and the community work together and listen to each other, everyone is safer.

One way our officers routinely interact with campus employees, residents, and guests is through our community engagement programs. All IU campuses also have a safe escort services for students and employees, most of which are led by the IUPD.

A masked IU Southeast officer hands a branded goody bag in through the passenger side window of an orange Kia Soul during a campus community engagement event.

Our officers also run many safety trainings, and are able to customize presentations to the needs of your organization or participate on panel discussions and festivals that involve law enforcement topics.
