Online Training

IU Environmental Health and Safety offers online training sessions for staff, faculty, and students through CITI and E-Training (Powered by IU Expand/Canvas).  Online training, when possible, has been developed by IUEHS to ensure that those who work on and off IU campuses are given the knowledge and skills needed to reduce the risk of injury while performing work tasks and to meet regulatory requirements.

Generally, IUEHS online training is available through IU Expand/Canvas; however, some courses may be delivered through CITI for researchers. If you are a researcher, please review specific course listings or course information by research area to identify the best location to complete your training.

To find and enroll in IUEHS E-Training courses in IU Expand:

1. Go to the IU Expand “IU Environmental Health and Safety” page.
2. Find the course you would like to complete and click on the course.
3. To enroll, open the course’s description page, and then click ENROLL. You may be redirected to a login portal; if so, click Log-in. If prompted, enter your IU username and passphrase.
4. Click Enroll in Course.
5. To access your course immediately:
   • Click Go to Your Dashboard.
   • Click In Progress.
   • Find the appropriate course, and then, below its title, click Begin Course.

To access the IU Expand IUEHS training course(s) in which you enrolled:

1. Navigate to your IU Expand dashboard using either of the following methods:
   
   • From the IU Expand "E-Training" page:
     • If you already logged in, in the top right corner, click your name, and then from the drop-down list, click Student Dashboard.
     • If you are not already logged in, click Log-in in the top right corner to login using your IU username/passphrase.
2. On your IU Expand dashboard, click In Progress at the top left corner.
3. On the “In Progress” page, find the course you want to access, and then, below its title, select one of the following:
   • Begin Course (for courses you have not started)
   • Resume Course (for courses you started but did not complete)
   • Review Course (for courses you have completed)
