Bicycle and Motorcycle Units

Bicycle Unit

Officers in the IUPD's Bicycle Unit are able to swiftly navigate through congested areas or pedestrian zones. Using bicycles allows officers to patrol larger areas than they might otherwise on foot. This unit has an important role in community engagement and promoting bicycle safety.

Motorcycle Unit

The highly-skilled officers in the IUPD's motorcycle unit undergo 80 hours of training. This unit regularly supports traffic enforcement, patrol duties, escorts, and parades.
