Public health programs focus on protecting the health of people and communities through prevention of infectious disease and illness. Disease and illness can be spread through air, food, water, and animal interactions. IU's public health programs utilize a proactive approach to monitor and address concerns in all of these areas, and promote healthy campus communities.
IU's public health programs strive to control infectious diseases and reduce environmental hazards through education, training, consultation, policy development, surveillance, collaboration, inspections, and regulatory enforcement. IUEHS staff also respond to and investigate communicable disease outbreaks in order to stop their spread and prevent future illnesses within the campus community.
These public health pages should be used as a resource to help you protect yourself and your community.
