The Indiana University Police Department (IUPD) collects data on every use of force incident involving its officers. We will provide this data to the public on a quarterly basis as it becomes available. IUPD defines “use of force as” applying any level of force, including weaponless force, in order to gain compliance, including restraint beyond compliant handcuffing.
IUPD’s policies related to use of force can be found on the General Orders page in Chapter 7.
