Purpose
To state the Indiana University Police Department (IUPD) conducts a documented test of Indiana University’s panic alarms (also commonly referred to as panic buttons or duress alarms).
General Order
Panic alarms are installed within various Indiana University facilities and are an important component of the overall campus emergency response system. At the direction of the division’s senior leadership, the IUPD will conduct a documented test of each alarm that alerts to the IUPD’s dispatch communications center at least quarterly.
Panic alarms that are malfunctioning or need any other type of maintenance will be reported to the appropriate University department for resolution.
