Purpose
To state the Limited Physical Security and Access Assessments are conducted by appropriately trained personnel.
General Order
Physical security and access personnel are appropriately trained and certified to conduct Limited Physical Security and Access Assessments for the Indiana University (IU) community. These assessments may include and are not limited to considerations of the following:
- Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED),
- physical security and access principles,
- space usage,
- space history,
- human behavior,
- crime prevention techniques, and
- applicable IU policy and standards.
Any Indiana University Police Department employee who has been identified as a CPTED Liaison will be trained to conduct a Limited Physical Security and Access Assessment under the strict guidance of the trained and certified physical security and access personnel. The CPTED Liaisons will submit their completed assessment to the physical security and access personnel who will review and finalize the assessment.
