Purpose
To direct the Incident Command System (ICS) training for applicable employees of the Indiana University Police Department (IUPD).
General Order
Based on a position within the IUPD and the duties and responsibilities employees might have within the ICS, employees will participate in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) offered ICS courses and the responsibilities of the command and general staff positions.
Incident Command System Training (17.2.1)
All IUPD employees who are a part of the Cadet Officer Program, sworn officers, non-sworn security officers and dispatchers will complete the following FEMA courses as a part of their initial training:
- ICS-100: Introduction to the Incident Command System
- ICS-200: ICS for Single Resources and Initial Action Incidents
- IS-700: National Incident Management System, An Introduction
- IS-800: National Response framework, An Introduction
All sergeants and above will complete the following FEMA courses, as soon as practicable upon hire or promotion:
- ICS-300: Intermediate ICS for Expanding Incidents
- ICS-400: Advanced ICS for Command and General Staff
Certificates of completion will be maintained in the IUPD’s Training Management System.
