Chapter: Chapter 05: Recruitment and Selection
Sub-Chapter: 5.2 - Selection
Effective Date: 07/11/2023
Revised Date: 07/11/2023
Rescinds: None
Purpose
To require that all elements of the Indiana University Police Department’s (IUPD) selection process are applied uniformly.
General Order
All elements of the selection process will be administered, scored, and interpreted in a uniform manner across all IUPD divisions.
Selection Process Applied Uniformly
All hiring documents and instructions will be uniformly provided to all candidates.
For each process, interview questions are pre-determined and all candidates who are applying for the same position will be asked the same questions in the same order. Clarifying questions are allowable but will vary from candidate to candidate. For all interviews, an average rating of “Meets Expectations” is considered a passing score.
For any testing, the same instructions will be provided uniformly to all candidates.
All candidates will be afforded the same time allotment for all components of the selection process.
In compliance with any applicable statute, if an applicant believes they may have a need for reasonable accommodation, the IUPD’s senior director for public safety will facilitate the request.
