Shift Briefing Training
Employees may suggest a topic for shift briefing training by notifying their training coordinator. The training coordinator will forward the information to the director for professional standards and education or designee for consideration. The director for professional standards and education or designee will make the determination and, if appropriate, assign personnel to develop the training.
All shift briefing training will follow an approved lesson plan in accordance with G6.1.2 Lesson Plans and be instructed by a certified Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board instructor. All attendees will be documented on a roster in accordance with G6.1.5 Records of All Classes.
Shift supervisors may conduct or facilitate professional development activities with their shifts. These professional development activities may not meet the standards outlined in this general order to be considered formal documented training but are still valuable and highly encouraged.
