Purpose
To state the Title IX and sexual misconduct training requirement for Indiana University Police Department (IUPD) personnel.
General Order
All employees of the IUPD are identified as “Responsible Employees” under Indiana University Policy UA-03 Discrimination, Harassment, and Sexual Misconduct and are required to complete university mandated training.
Title IX and Sexual Misconduct Training
Indiana University’s Office of Institutional Equity (OIE) coordinates and oversees the sexual misconduct employee training.
IUPD’s Professional Standards and Education staff work collaboratively with the OIE to ensure all newly hired employees complete the initial training and all employees complete the annual training.
The training consists of the following, at a minimum:
- How to identify sexual harassment (6.3.5 a);
- Indiana University’s Title IX reporting and complaint resolution procedures (6.3.5 b); and
- Any other procedures used by Indiana University to investigate reports of sexual violence (6.3.5 c).
