In August 2023, Indiana University will graduate its 50th class of police academy cadets. IU Police Academy alumni have the distinction of graduating from the only national program that allows university students to work as police officers. This unique training produces highly qualified, experienced, and educated law enforcement professionals.
For 50 years, we have graduated people with the right culture and the right training who have become progressive leaders in their own agencies and within the IU Police Department.
Benjamin Hunter, Associate Vice President and Superintendent for Public Safety
