IUPD Programs & Services

Community safety is our priority

IUPD isn’t only here for you in a crisis—we are committed to improving the safety of our students, employees, neighbors, and visitors every day.

We want you to know our names and faces, so you won’t hesitate to call us when you need us. Our community engagement programs offer opportunites for us to share tips and training that can help you lead a safer life, as well as a chance for us to get acquainted.

Our safety trainings are designed to help you know what to do should anything happen on campus, but they also include skills that will be helpful to you anywhere, throughout your life.

Campuses are busy places where people are constantly on the move—on foot, by bike, or by car. We are always working to improve traffic and pedestrian safety and also enforce the parking regulations of each campus.

Monroe County High Tech Crime Unit

The Monroe County High Tech Crime Unit is a partnership between IUPD’s Bloomington Division and the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office, which provides support for law enforcement agencies in Monroe County and surrounding counties in processing digital evidence to improve prosecution outcomes, both by strengthening meritorious cases and by exonerating the innocent.

An online portal is available for submitting forensic requests.
