Active Shooter Reaction is taught by public safety and emergency management and continuity staff. It teaches the concept (watch video) of Run-Hide-Fight.
Campus Security Authority Training is required under the federal Clery Act for certain groups of people who have police or security duties, or those who have significant student or campus responsibilities. The instruction is available through Canvas. More about CSA
Child Abuse Recognition and Report: This video explains how to recognize the warning signs of child abuse. It also discusses your obligations to report suspected abuse.
Child Sexual Abuse Prevention. This video explains why child-serving organizations should establish protocols to protect children from sexual abuse. It also discusses signs for recognizing abuse and ways of responding to and reporting abuse.
Crime Prevention Presentations, generally issue-specific, are conducted by IUPD personnel upon request.
Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design usually involves a survey of the physical, mechanical and organizational structure of a location for the purpose of identifying features that may contribute to unwanted behaviors such as criminal acts.
Drug Awareness is a 1-hour program offered upon request to university administrators whose work may involve dealing with illegal drug issues.
Fatal Vision Goggles, an interactive activity with IUPD-Bloomington officers to simulate intoxication.
IUPD 2, offered upon request only to women, is a 1.5-hour class designed to address personal safety awareness and risk minimization issues related to potential sexual violence or other attacks.
Programs Involving Children (PIC) Training describes IU's Programs Involving Children policy. The policy does not require the training for compliance but it's recommended for anyone running a PIC program. The training is available through Canvas. More about PIC
