Meet Alexandra Piry: Her work provides opportunities to help people, to improve as a police officer

“I truly love going to work and knowing I have an opportunity to make a difference and help others.”

IUPD-Northwest Officer Alexandra Piry has worked for the division for a little more than a year. Before that, she worked at multiple hospitals and was an emergency medical technician, where she witnessed how much good work police do. She felt like she could really excel and make a difference as a police officer.

As an IUPD officer, she has worked with the Gary Police Department and Lake County Sheriff's Department on a few special assignments and “enjoyed every minute of it – learning and seeing new things,” and knowing the experience was making her a better officer.
